UT students research the science of organ donation

Saving lives and treating disease is a major goal of modern medicine. We have doctors to diagnose the common cold, broken legs, and asthma. We have pharmacists to dispense medications for skin care and mental illnesses.

One field of healthcare professionals that often gets overlooked are the specialists in organ donation and transplantation. These doctors, coordinators and various professionals save thousands of lives every year and ease the pain of loss in thousands of other families.
